Recently heard that 优刻得 (Okeedoe) and 国泰海通 (Cathay Pacific) just signed a strategic cooperation agreement

. The thing is, why did they have to formalize it like this? Can't they just be friends already?

I mean, I get it, both are big players in the industry, but can't we just have some friendly competition instead of all these "partnerships" and whatnot?
But seriously, it's cool that they're going to focus on building a strong data foundation together

. I've been saying for ages that this is the future of business, and now big companies are finally catching on

. The only thing I'm worried about is that maybe all this will lead to even more consolidation in the industry... like, what if Okeedoe just becomes a subsidiary of Cathay Pacific?

That would be a shame.
Still, I guess it's good for consumers if they start offering more joint services and promotions

. Let's just hope that both companies keep innovating and don't get too complacent

.
