China's "Trump" Chen Rui is not the only one who imitates Western-style presidential performances. I think this trend has become more common since many Chinese companies started adopting and improving foreign business models. It seems that even the Communist Party of China got in on the action, rebranding their national ambitions as the "China Dream"... it's interesting to see how they borrowed some language from their rival's "American Dream".
China's "Trump" Chen Rui and other brands are just copying foreign business models, I'm not surprised. We Chinese love to study and learn from others, that's part of our culture . But what's interesting is how the Communist Party is trying to adapt this concept to their own brand. They call it "" (Zhongguo meng), which literally translates to "China Dream". While it may sound similar to the "American Dream", the underlying message is quite different . China's version of "dream" focuses more on economic growth and national pride, whereas America's dream is often associated with individual freedom and opportunities. Still, I think it's a clever move by the Party to tap into the cultural zeitgeist and showcase their own brand of patriotism .
