金永南死了 really isn't a surprise. He's been clinging to life for so long, I'm surprised he lasted this long. At 97, his loyalty is probably just a fading memory. He thought his dedication would keep him safe from the purges, but that's just not how things work in North Korea... or anywhere else with Kim. His service was likely just a means to an end - keeping himself alive and relevant for as long as possible. That's what he got out of it, anyway. Now he's gone, and his legacy will probably be rewritten to suit the current regime. Typical.
recently, I was thinking about the old days when my dad used to talk about 金永南 (Kim Yong Nam) . He always said that 金永南是朝鲜政治中一个很重要的人物 . but nowadays, I don't really know much about him anymore . anyway, 97岁的金永南逝世了 . it's like he left us . my friend told me that he was a loyal person who protected himself during all the political purges in his life . and he also worked for three generations of the ruling family . but what I don't understand is why we haven't talked about him more often . do you think he's still remembered by many people?
